...it's Spring 2015: Pink

Lisa and I had a first, great shop this spring on Thursday with the one-and-only Loren Munro at Bloomingdales.  Maybe because we're sick and tired of the snow, winter sweaters and winter boots, but one thing stood out to us:  pink.  Theory had some great blush/tan/pink items, Ted Baker had some lovely pink and floral pieces, and Vince had some yummy pink cashmere.  Even I, the queen of neutral, got in on the act.  A Vince sweater with a MaxMara scarf and a Ted Baker t-shirt - all in pink.  What is the world coming to?!

Lisa has been known to dabble in pink, so she had no trouble jumping into the pool.  Next time you are out, gravitate towards a springy pink.  See some of our favorites below. ~ JH

Obsessed with Calypso's Resort Line

It begins as a fairytale:

"Once upon a time, Lisa and Jen would head to Calypso and have a spending spree.  There were SO many things Lisa and Jen loved and they couldn't stop at just one or two things.  They got to know the sales people (Karen in the Newbury Street store is the BEST).  They happily shopped this way for a few years, always finding treasures at each visit.

But then one day several years ago, Lisa and Jen began to wander through Calypso aimlessly.  There were no special or different clothes or accessories.  They had seen it all before.  Entire seasons would pass without even a single purchase.  Again and again, they would faithfully return to Calypso, in hopes that one day, the magic would return."

People, the magic is back.  While trolling through Calypso Resort online, I was tempted by a number of items.  Holy cow, I'm in trouble.  First thing that will be purchased?  This crazy gorgeous Inca Seed necklace.  It's love, serious love.

I'm ALWAYS looking for transition tops, and man does Calypso have them this season.  They have a fabulous short sleeve cashmere blend sweater I adore…do I want red or navy?!  (Oh, and that necklace is the Inca one in ivory!)
Loving this lightweight striped sweater…with the necklace is HEAVEN!
I've never seen their cashmere dusters with stripes before!  And you know how Lisa and I LOVE stripes!  With a navy t-shirt underneath, it's a great transition outfit (especially since it's so cold here through early May and all you want to do is wear spring clothes!).  Comes in gray too!

It's going to take all of my will-power to NOT purchase a pair of these.  They are camel, suede Castaner Bel Peep Toe espadrilles.  I have them in a gold linen and I wear them to DEATH all summer.  I have a summery J.Crew pair of espadrilles from last summer, but these are suede!  And SO comfortable.  Do you hear my will-power crumbling?!
Loving this tie-dye t-shirt.  Would look so cool under my navy, cashmere duster in early April, no?!
OK.  I have to stop talking about it.  I'm practically foaming at the mouth and I'm about to get 'click-happy' with a full shopping cart.  I think a trip to Calypso is in the cards for me next week, as soon as the kids are back in school!  Happy New Year, and welcome to Spring 2014! ~ JH

A little obsessed with Calypso St. Barth cashmere.

About a month ago, I started wearing a camel colored, sleeveless cashmere "duster" I purchased last spring at Calypso St. Barth.  Over a column of black, over a white blouse with black pants and cheetah flats, it has been a go-to since I first put it on.  Lisa has one , a long-sleeve version, in navy.  She's worn it on planes, over jeans, etc.  Just one of the most useful pieces of clothing we've owned.

And today, in my inbox, an email from Calypso showcasing all of their fabulous cashmere.  I swear, if I don't get in to Boston to check it out I'll go nuts!  Check out some of these lovelies. The Maggie Cashmere Duster is what Lisa owns (and the color below is the color of mine), and I might have to dive in an get another one too.  It comes in 6 colors and is so yummy soft, light, and yet warm.  Heaven.  Any of you out there who get cold all winter?  This is the piece you want to own and throw over everything.

I'm a total sucker for a turtleneck and stripes.  What about this Callee Striped Cashmere Turtleneck?  Both obsessions in one, with really cool wide sleeves.  Comes in navy and in camel.  Love it over white jeans (yes in winter!), skinny white cords, or just jeans.  Elegant mommy-wear.

Another great "mom" sweater is the Janine Cashmere Pullover.  Great over jeans, skinny pants, with a cool long-sleeved t-shirt underneath.  I love the dolman sleeve draping!

Finally, the Jaci Cashmere V-neck is a great everyday sweater.  Not too fitted, it has great details like a rolled hem on the v-neck and deep side slits for movement.  And, it comes in 8 colors, from your basic neutrals to this cayenne color.

Great cashmere!  Plus, right now, 25% off Friends and Family with the code FALLFF12 at checkout online AND in store.  If I can only find a morning to sneak off to Newbury Street. ~ JH
