What were we doing last Thursday morning?

Normally, I would be at the gym and Lisa would be at work.  But not last Thursday!  Last Thursday, we got up early, showered, texted at least 6 times about what we were wearing (including photos of outfits) and headed into Boston with a good friend to hit the Saks Fifth Avenue "Key to the Cure" Fashion Show, to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Nothing gets us more giddy than to put on heels at 8:30am and head out the door to mimosas, brunch, and clothing!

This is how the morning started - lovely seats, mimosas, and yogurt parfaits:
At 10:00am, we took our seats and prepared to be inspired.  And inspired we were!

The first look was so cool - Seven for All Mankind printed jeans (and you know how we love those) with a Joie leather top, Yigal Azrouel leather jacket, and AH-MAZ-ING Reed Krakoff cuff and necklace.  (PS - Our friend purchased the necklace after the show.  She practically ran downstairs to the Reed Krakoff salon.)
The second look, featuring a Lanvin sweater, Brunello Cucinelli pant, Eugenia Kim hat and Tod's shoes, was billed as an outfit for running around with the kids - 'won't the kids think your sweater is super fun with the bugs?!'  One of us said, and I quote, "Just hanging out with the kids in my Lanvin."  Yeah, right.  In case the $1,500 beetle sweater doesn't work for 'hanging with the kids', Tory Burch has a 'scarab' sweater for $295.
I REALLY loved look 3, which included a 3.1 Philip Lim sweater and blouse, J Brand leather leggings, and Prada shoes.  I think I love it because it looks exactly like something I'd wear.  Adore.
And then there was look 4 - Missoni dress with Jimmy Choo boots and Marc Jacobs jacket.  Holy cow.  We loved it.  The entire audience loved it.  Ahhh....
Look number 7 made me go nuts!  The Carven coat had me running to the Carven section after the show.  And trying it on.  And drooling.
Look 11 was this INSANE Etro black gown.  Simple and elegant, all at once.  Jewelry at your hip.
Look 12 featured an Aquilano Rimondi red dress.  Think of and use this red dress as your new LBD.  Loved the jeweled Dolce & Gabbana clutch they paired with it.
Lisa and our friend oh-ed and ah-ed over look 13, this Helmut Lang gown paired with Gucci studded pumps.  Saks promised that the gown was exceedingly comfortable.
The finale dress was a stunner - a Nina Ricci gown with a sheer back.  Talk about making an entrance...
...and an exit.
What a fun morning!  We hope you enjoyed our fashion show review and we hope you are equally inspired! ~ JH

W2WW hits the runway at J.Crew!

My usually boring, getting-ready-for-the-week Sunday night was anything but last night as I got all decked out in J.Crew for a fall fashion show at the Natick Collection store.  When it comes to the fashion part, I can hold my own.  But walking the runway was going to be something all together different.

I dressed in one of the outfits that J.Crew stylist Sylvia Gesell put together for me and was accessorized by Jen, who I was missing terribly at this point!  The pre-show banter in the dressing room amongst the "talent" was a welcome distraction.  There were about 20 of us in total, decked out from head to toe in J.Crew.  There was a lot of complimenting going on and shopping the outfit that your neighbor was wearing.  I swear one woman was going to buy those cheetah pumps right out from under me.

Here's a super fall pairing of navy and royal with some J.Crew signature arm candy.  And those MacAlister wedge boots looked sharp with the pegged jeans.

So here I am in the burgundy trousers with cashmere camel v-neck sweater and amazing cheetah ponyhair pumps.   We accessorized the outfit with a bright pink clutch, big sparkly necklace, and those fabulous cheetah and gold bracelets.   It all happened so quickly I just went with it and had fun.  I saw a few camel sweaters and burgundy Minnie pants at the check out after the show and am happy to have inspired the audience.
Here are two of my other favorite looks from the night.  The layered vest over a colorblock camel & black blazer was hot. Underneath was a sparkly top and those fabulous multi-strand pearls that could dress up a burlap bag and make it rock.  If you haven't discovered the multi-strand pearls yet, click on the link right now and see what you're missing.
The men who were modeling were outstanding, especially rugged guy and cool dude behind him.
Best of all was walking out and in between the flashes, seeing friends and readers cheering me on.

Thanks for your support ladies! ~ LB

W2WW News Flash - Styled for J.Crew Fashion Show!

3:30 on a Saturday.  Zipping down Route 9 west. Dressed in I-was-sitting-at-the-soccer-field outfit. Left the girls with dear husband so I can meet Lisa at J.Crew in the Natick Mall.  Why?  Because we are a week away from Lisa's runway debut and she had her styling appointment!

Next Sunday, September 23rd, at 6:30pm, you are all invited to J.Crew in the Natick Mall for a fashion show featuring Fall 2012 looks.  Unfortunately, I will miss the event; please attend, check out the fashions, and take tons of pictures for me!

Yesterday, J.Crew stylist Sylvia Gesell had 2 outfits styled for Lisa, waiting in a dressing room.  So fun to have someone else pick your clothes!  Check out the options.
Lisa was to try on both outfits and see which one she wants to wear on the runway.  First, more casual look.  Loved the cheetah pumps and the stacked bracelets.

Next up, a more serious look, with capped-toe pumps, great silk blouse and fun tweed.  Lisa's husband would LOVE the pink.
So, which one do you want to see walk down the runway?  Post your favorite and then come to J.Crew on the 23rd to find out! ~ LB & JH

W2WW News Flash - Save the Date for a J.Crew Fall Fashion Show featuring LB!

W2WW is hitting the runway!  Lisa and I were approached by our personal shopper at J.Crew (Natick Mall), Sylvia Gesell, to model in a 'closed door' Fall Fashion Show at the Natick J. Crew.  What fashion-loving blogger could say no?!  Well, unfortunately I had to as I will be out of town. Lisa, however, will be there and we certainly hope that our W2WW readers and fans will come, support Lisa, and check out the fall J.Crew fashions, because you are all invited! No RSVP necessary.  Just get your calendar out and pencil in the date:  Sunday, September 23rd, from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

We will be blogging about her styling appointment for her 'runway look' as well as the show itself.  I wonder what she'll be wearing?  Will it be a more polished look, like this one, with the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Snake Print?
Or, will it be a dress, like this Jules Dress in Colorblock?
Will they feature the Stubbs & Wootton for J.Crew Classic Velvet Slippers?
Or, will Lisa be styled in a classic, J.Crew look:  Merino V-neck sweater with Cafe Capris?
And if you attend the show, please take pictures for me! ~ JH
