Who loves a sample sale?!  We do!  And there's a good one on Monday and Tuesday, November 17th and 18th, right here in Wellesley.  Head to 45 Falmouth Road (home of Jennifer Sleeper) for the Worth New York and W by Worth Fall and Holiday sample sale. All items are 50% off - cash and carry!

And while you are there, there will be some holiday vendors as well like Stella and Dot, Little Graces, and Pam's Pashminas.  Nothing like one-stop-shopping.  See you there at 11am on Monday?! ~ JH

My foray into eBay.

Have you ever been so desperate to have a pair of shoes that you hunted them down in the far corners of the Earth?  No?  Well, I'm ashamed to say that is something I just did.  It unfolds like a mystery on Dateline.

Setting:  W by Worth and Worth New York Trunk Show, April 2014.
Characters:  W by Worth representative Heather Steele, shoppers Jennifer Houston and Lisa Bida.

Jen tries on a Worth New York dress.  Falls in love because it fits her so perfectly.  When does that ever happen?!  She must have the dress.  Black denim that reads 'graphite' more than sharp black, with a strip of stone colored leather down the front.  It's seriously cool.

She slips on a pair of heeled sandals with the dress.  They are Heather's own sandals (supplied for trying out outfits with heels - which I love).  Holy cow.  They are PERFECT with the dress.  Lisa is dying over the shoes.

JH:  "Heather, where did you get these shoes? When did you get these shoes?"
Heather: "Nordstrom last year.  They were on sale too."
JH:  (Thinking - "Damn, probably going to be hard to find.")  "Do you have the box they came in?  If you do, can you send me a picture of the shoe information?"
Heather: "Sure".  (Thinking - "You are crazy my friend.")

Cut to 2 days later.  The following arrives in Jen's iMessages from Heather.

Bingo!  Exactly what Jen needs to find the shoe!  (Incidently, the arrival of this image coincides with Jen's daughter being sick and out of school for the week, resulting in massive quantities of time for internet searches and shoe obsessions.)

Internet searches turn up the shoe on Amazon.com of all things.  But in a size 8 1/2?  No.  Not even close.  Jen searches Shopstyle.com, one of her go-to sites for finding things she needs.  She finds the Cole Haan Minetta sandal, but in different color-ways.  Purple, mustard, but not ivory and dark grey.  Nothing.

On a whim and at the end of her resources, she decides to try Ebay.  Jen is not an Ebay shopper normally, but there they are.  8 1/2.  NIB (which stands for 'new in box').  Seller gets 99.9% rave reviews and features a ton of other NIB shoes.  Hum...could this be it?  And the price?  $90.

For $90, Jen decides to risk it.  In 3 days, she receives the package and voila!

(That last image is horrible, because I took it.  But had to show the results!)
