W2WW News Flash - Ines De La Fressange develops line for Uniqlo.

Image from luxuo.com.
The former French model and author, Ines De La Fressange, is partnering with Uniqlo for a capsule collection due out later this month.  We've admired the impossibly chic De La Fressange since she penned the Parisian Chic: A Style Guide and shared tips for looking effortlessly cool and put together.  Take the navy sweater, my personal favorite, paired with white jeans, flats, perhaps a scarf and voila!

New York magazine wrote: "She genuinely doesn't give a rat's ass about what she's supposed to look like, but always looks fabulous anyway.  She smokes, consumes bread and butter, has short hair, almost never wears heels, and always smiles in pictures, probably because she isn't dying for a foot rub and a sandwich."  If I had a closet of Roger Vivier, I would probably wear flats all the time too.  My kind of lady.

So, what to expect on November 20th (unveiled in Paris on 11/20, in stores early 2014)?  I'd bet we will see lots of her Parisian-inspired basics like slim pants, cardigan sweaters, striped tees, and cool jackets in the French uniform of white, tan, navy and black.

Here are some of our favorite IDLF looks. And when-oh-when is Uniqlo coming to Boston?!?! ~ LB

W2WW News Flash - Issa London Collaboration at Banana Republic!

This is one collaboration that I'm going to go to ON LAUNCH DAY!  According to the July 2013 issue of InStyle magazine (and Women's Wear Daily, back in April), August 6th is the day that the created-for-Banana-Republic Issa London line will debut in BR stores and online.  (I can't believe we missed the announcement that happened back in April!)

You might ask yourself 'How do I know Issa dresses?' or 'What is Issa London?'.  Do you remember this photo?

That, my dear readers, is a classic Issa London dress.  Issa London is to the UK what DVF is to the US.  The 40 piece collection will feature, you guessed it, dresses as well as accessories, priced between $39 and $150.  QUITE the bargain when you consider that dress above retails for $595.  (Although I just found a turquoise one on sale at shopbop.com for $416.)

Here are a few sketches of what we might see on August 6th.

I actually tried on one of these dresses a few years ago and they are SO flattering.  Would be a great staple to have in your wardrobe (kind of like a DVF wrap dress).  Will I see you at 10:00am at the Natick Mall's Banana Republic? ~ JH

W2WW News Flash - Milly launches Limited Collection at Banana Republic

One of our readers texted me that this collection is in stores now!  Milly, a collection of 'bold, advanced contemporary fashion with a graceful edge', created a line to be sold for a limited time at Banana Republic.
I must say, please check it out.  Milly style + Banana Republic price point = some summer must-haves.  Some of my favorites are below, and note that the elephant print shorts are ALREADY sold out.  Boo.  What are your favorites? ~ JH

W2WW News Flash - J.Crew / Manolo Blahnik collaboration NOT happening this fall.

Image from nbcnewyork.com.
After much anticipation and rumor, J.Crew finally confirmed today that there will not be a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik this fall.  Boo.

Apparently, the rumor began at J.Crew's Fall 2012 runway presentation. Lisa and I got really excited (we love the Target collaborations, especially Calypso St. Barth and Missoni), but starting reading conflicting reports.  Like, that Mr. Blahnik didn't realize he was part of a collaboration.

Glad that's cleared up. ~ JH
